DHAKA, Sept 18, 2020 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over
Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over
Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to
heavy falls at some places over the northern part of the country today.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, a
met office release said this morning.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Panjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh,
Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across Central part of Bangladesh as one of its
associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North
Bay.
Country’s highest temperature on Thursday was recorded 35.5 degrees
Celsius in Jashore and the lowest one today 24.0 degrees Celsius in Tangail.
The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am was recorded 76
millimeters (mm) at Rangpur.
The sun sets at 5.58 pm today and rises at 5.46 am tomorrow in the
capital.
