Uruguay head coach says no information on how serious Cavani’s injury
is
SOCHI, July 1, 2018 (BSS/TASS)- The coaching staff of Uruguay’s national football team has not yet been informed on how serious is the injury, received by Edinson Cavani during the game against Portugal on Saturday, head coach Oscar Tabarez has told reporters.
“So far, I had no chance to talk to medics,” Tabarez said at the post-match news conference. “We don’t have a lot of time to recover,” he added. “Right now, we are all concerned, but we don’t know how serious the injury is.”
A brace from Cavani (in the 7th and 62nd minutes) secured Uruguay a place in the World Cup quarter.
Securing a place in the quarterfinals, Uruguay will take on France in Nizhny Novgorod on July 6.
The match will start at 17.00 Moscow Time.
