DB arrests 6 over mugging, murder in Demra
DHAKA, June 30, 2018 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested six persons over mugging and murder of a bKash agent in capital’s Demra area.
Police also recovered a pistol along with a bullet and a motorcycle used in the crime from their possessions. Taka thirteen thousand mugged from the victim was also recovered.
The arrestees are – Md Abdul Zabbar Miah, Md Sofiullah Bappy, Babul Miah, Md Kamrul Hasan, Md Kawser and Md Jamal.
“The muggers shot and killed bKash agent Rushed Hossain in East Boxnagar area in Demra on June 10 and took away Taka 72 thousand from him. Our team started investigating the case and arrested accused including the main culprit Md Abdul Zabbar Miah from different areas of the country,” additional police commissioner Md Abdul Baten told the newsmen at a press briefing held at DMP media center today.
The police official said the arrestees in the primary interrogation confessed their involvements in the crime.
