National mourning day observed in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI,Aug-16 (BSS)- People of Narsingdi on Saturday paid glowing tributes to the father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in observance of his 45th martyrdom anniversary and the national mourning day.

To mark the day , district administration organized a discussion on “ The Life And Contribution of Bangabandhu at Shilpakola Academy auditorium.

Industries Minister Advocate Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun who attended the discussion meeting as chief guest said the carnage of August-15 , 1975 was the most brutal assassination as the killers did not hesitate to gun down Bangabandu and his innocent family members .

“The August-15 massacre was the most barbaric political killing in the world’s history by a section of disgruntled and ambitious army officials for which even Bangaabandhu’s youngest son Rassel had to embrace martyrdom “ the minister said

The minister urged all for working together in building a prosperous Bangladesh as dreamt by the father of nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman .

Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Narsingdi Syeda Farhana Kawnine, the meeting was addressed among others by Chairman of Narsingdi Zila Parishad Abdul Motin Bhuiyan , Supeerintendent of Police Praloy Kuymar Jouardar ,Civil Surgeon Ibrahim Titon, Former Muktijudhja Commander Abdul Motaleb Pathen.

Other speakers said Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman wanted to build a secular and developed state, free from terrorism, corruption and exploitation.

“But the political change over with the assassination of the father of the nation and his family members barred to fulfill the dream and eventually anti-liberation forces and Pakistani ghosts usurped state power again .

They also demanded return of the rest of Bangbandhu killers and execution of their death sentences to free the nation from the stigma .
