CHATTOGRAM, August 9, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus cases in
Chittagong district has crossed the 15,000-mark as 73 fresh cases were
reported in the past 24 hours.
“As of Sunday, Chittagong district recorded a total of 15,065 confirmed
cases of Covid-19,” Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today.
Among the fresh cases, 65 are from Chattogram city and eight from different
upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
“A total of 3,071 coronavirus patients have been cured so far and the
percentage of recovery rate has stood at 20.38 percent in the district,” Dr
Sheikh Fazle Rabbi added.
Among the total infected patients, 10,555 are from Chattogram city and 4510
from different upazilas of the district, he said, adding the number of
coronavirus (COVID-19) death in Chattogram reached 241.
“A total of 5102 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at isolation
units of different hospitals in the port city as 3,071 have been released
from different hospitals and 241 died. The rest 6651 are receiving treatments
from their homes through hotlines and telemedicine in the district including
city areas”, he added.
