DHAKA, August 29, 2017 (BSS) – As a comfortable and cheap mode of transport, Bangladesh Railway (BR) would ferry 2.70 lakh passengers everyday this year, Railways Minister M Mujibul Hoque told newsmen here today.
“The railway is a comfortable and safe as well as cheap mode of public transport as the people feel encouraged to journey by train, because the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has improved the railway services,” he said, while visiting Kamalapur Railway Station to oversee the train schedule and its services on the eve of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
The minister said additional coaches have been added for the Eid passengers and special trains have been arranged so that more passengers can be transported on the occasion of the Eid.

The minister also exchanged views with the train passengers during the visit and asked the authorities for ensuring smooth transportation for the Eid holidaymakers. There is no possibility of disruption in the schedule and till 3pm today, some 30 trains left the Kamalapur station, he told on a query.
