MYMENSINH, August 5, 2020 (BSS)- Massive variety based Aus cultivation is going on in full swing in the district.
District Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources told BSS that nearly 23 thousand hectares of land have been targeted of which Aus seedlings in a total of 22812 hectares of land have already been cultivated till today in the district under Kharip 20- 21 season.
According to DAE office sources, the total cultivation included BR three in 180 hectares, BR -14 in 220 hectares, BR 26 in 1576 hectares, Bridhan 28 in 1780 hectares, Bridhan 41 in 150 acres, Bridhan -43in 75 hectares, Bridhan 48 in 16793 hectares, BINA 21 in eight hectares, Bridhan 82 in 185 hectares, Narica in 354 hectares BINA 19 in 303 hectares, NINA 21 in eight hectares, Pfizer-316 hectares and the variety of Biplop in 51 hectares.
When contacted Rezaul Karim Faruque and Swakat Alam, Sub assistant Agriculture officers of Muktagacha upazila told BSS that the government has provided quality seeds ,fertilizers, Aus incentives and other agricultural inputs among the Aus farmers free of cost for boosting the most prospective paddy production.
The Aus farmers said different types of incentives of the government brought smile upon the faces of the farmers through the cultivation of variety based Aus paddy.
