Switzerland, Costa Rica share points 2-2 in World Cup

DHAKA, June 28, 2018 (BSS) – Switzerland conceded a last minute penalty and Costa Rica made no mistake to share points in the last group E match which ended in a 2-2 draw in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in the early hours of Thursday at Nizhny Novgorod in Russia.

Costa Rica began well, and should have gone ahead inside the opening 11 minutes, but Switzerland have grown into the game and look comfortable with their lead.

A lovely cross Lichtsteiner from the right flank saw rival defender Acosta trying to clear alow the ball to bobbles to the feet of Blerim Dzemaili who from the middle of box takes thunderous shot which beat the rival goalkeeper in 31st minutes of the proceedings (1-0) .

Costa Rica scored their first goal of this World Cup when Campbell’s cross saw Watson brilliantly nodding home in the 56th minutes (1-1).

Drmic put Swiss ahead in the 84th minutes (2-1) and own goal from goalkeeper Sommer saw Costa Rica made it 2-2.

Switzerland finished with five point as group E runners-up while Costa Rica  earned their first point in three matches.

 Switzerland will face Sweden in the round of 16th on July 3rd
