Monnujan expresses satisfaction over labour situation ahead of Eid
DHAKA, July 30, 2020 (BSS)- State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian today expressed her satisfaction over the prevailing labor situation in all industries including garments as all workers are expected to get their Eid-bonus along with salaries before Eid.
“I thank the employers for providing the promised salaries and bonuses to the workers during the pre-Eid period,” she said in a meeting here, according to a press release, received here today.
The state minister greeted all owners and workers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
She urged the workers not to leave their workplaces for their own safety considering the ongoing coronavirus situation.
It was informed at the meeting that the overall labor situation has been kept at a satisfactory level due to the relentless efforts of the field-level officials of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Labor and Employment Secretary K M Abdus Salam said: “After the coronavirus outbreak, a Crisis Management Committee comprising officials, workers and employers of our two departments was formed to keep the labor situation normal.”
