Water levels of 15 rivers rise, 73 fall

DHAKA, Aug 29, 2017 (BSS) – Water levels at 15 river stations monitored by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 73 stations recorded fall and 15 are above danger level.

Among the 90 monitored water level stations, two rivers registered steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna, Ganges-Padma and Surma-Kushiyara rivers are in falling trend while the Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are likely to continue falling in next 48 hours.

The Ganges-Padma rivers are likely to continue falling in next 48 hours and the Surma-Kushiyara rivers are likely to continue falling in next 24 hours.

A total of 76 mm rainfall was recorded at Sheola station and 39 mm at Kanaighat during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.
