Peru beat Australia 2-0 in World Cup

DHAKA, June 26, 2018 (BSS) – Australia’s dream of going to the next round
were shattered when Peru defeated them by 2-0 goals in their last group C
match of the FIFA World Cup held at Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia on
Tuesday.

Peru finally playing an attacking brand of soccer saw Carrillo’s thunderous
volley beat Aussie GK (1-0) in the 18th minute of the proceedings.

In the 70th minutes Guerrero powerful shot deflected off Milligan to see
Australian concede their second goal of the match (2-0).

With this victory, Peru opened their account with three points from three
matches while Australia had to remain at their previous credit of one point
playing the same number of outings.

Earlier, Australia went down a 1-2 goal defeat to France in their group
opening match and played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Denmark.

On the other hand, Peru made an early exit from the World Cup race,
suffering 0-1 goal defeat to Denmark in their group opening match and lost to
France also by 0-1 identical margin in their group second match.
