DHAKA, Aug 28, 2017 (BSS) – The government has spent Taka 10 crore for book distribution and library development in the last four years.
National Book Centre Director Md Nazrul Islam told BSS that every year Taka 2.50 crore has been spent in this sector. Half of the amount is spent in distributing books of donation and rest of the money is spent for library development.
Under the initiative of Cultural Affairs Ministry, the National Book Centre has spent Taka five crore for book distribution and rest of Taka five crore for library development in the last four years.
National Book Centre Sales Promotion Officer Khalilur Rahman Bhuiyan said books on the Liberation War, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Language Movement, politics, story and novel and biography of different renowned personalities have been sold and distributed in every year during the incumbent government tenure.
