400 meritorious female students get bicycles in Panchagarh

RANGPUR, July 13, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 400 selected poor meritorious female students of different secondary level educational institutions of Panchagarh Sadar upazila received new bicycles.

Land Secretary Maksudur Rahman Patwari distributed the bicycles with Local Governance Support Project (LGSP) funding at a function arranged maintaining health directives at Sadar upazila parishad premises in the district town as the chief guest.

Later, he distributed a roving shop with van-cart, three goats and 15 chickens among each of the 185 male and female beggars of Panchagarh Sadar upazila to rehabilitate them spending Taka 25.50 lakh under the Beggars Rehabilitation Project at the function.

Presided over by Sadar upazila Chairman Amirul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Sabina Yasmin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abdul Mannan, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Golam Rabbani and Press Club President Shafiul Alam were present.

On the occasion, some bicycle recipient female students expressed deep gratitude to the Sadar parishad authority for providing them with new bicycles as those will assist them to continue their education smoothly despite poverty in their families.

The chief guest suggested the bicycle recipient female school students to properly continue their studies to become worthy citizens for serving the nation in the future to contribute their own in building a developed Bangladesh.

He specially called upon the female students to make their family members aware of the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection and inspire everyone in abiding by health directives of the government to remain safe and keep others safe during the pandemic.
