Law enforcers asked to monitor private hospital’s COVID-19 treatment: Secy Kamal

KHULNA, July 11, 2020 (BSS)- Secretary of the Cabinet Division (Coordination and Reforms) Md Kamal Hossain here today asked the law enforcement agencies to be monitored all private hospital and clinics especially the traders who are involving with health business and trading health equipments in Khulna during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We believed that nobody will operate any business to cheat people while taking treatment for COVID-19,” he said, adding that authorities concerned should be monitored regularly on coronavirus treatment process and checking license and other necessary equipment in this regard.

“Collectively, all departments are working against the deadly virus and the work will continue till further notice and we hope that the rate of infection in Khulna will come down,” Kamal Hossain, also in-charge of Coronavirus Prevention and Relief Management Committee in Khulna District, said while addressing a meeting on district coronavirus infection prevention committee following social distance at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner Office in the city.

Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Md Helal Hossain, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Hossain Ali Khandaker, Additional Commissioner of Police Sardar Rakibul Islam, Superintendent of Police SM Shafiullah, Director of Khulna Medical College Hospital Dr. Md. Munshi Reza Sekandar, Vice-Principal of Khulna Medical College (KMC) Dr. Mehdi Newaz, Deputy Director of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in Khulna Shamim Ara Nazneen, Khulna Civil Surgeon Dr. Sujat Ahmed, Deputy Chief Information Officer of Khulna PID Javed Iqbal, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Md. Asaduzzaman Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ziaur Rahman, District Livestock Officer SM Awal Haque, Khulna Press Club President SM Nazrul Islam were present, among others, in the meeting.

The meeting also took some decisions including law that will be enforced through wide publicity to encourage people to abide by the rules of hygiene and using masks when going out. Government officials and employees will preserve a certificate from the head of their respective departments after testing for coronavirus and they will not take any leave during the Eid-ul-Azha.

Another coronavirus testing PCR machine and high flow nasal canal will be given to COVID-19 Hospital in Khulna and to provide rapid virus testing reports to physically ill patients on priority basis.

At the meeting, Helal Hossain said the district administration conducted mobile courts to follow the hygiene rules and flouting the coronavirus guidelines from the beginning of the pandemic till now.

The lockdown situation in Khulna City Corporation’s Ward no: 17 and 24 and Rupsha’s Aichgati Union have significantly reduced in the last two weeks, said Civil Surgeon of Khulna district.
