RANGPUR, July 11, 2020 (BSS) – The district administration distributed nutritious foodstuffs among 150 poor pregnant and lactating mothers of Panchagarh district today to enhance their immune capacity in the wake of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Secretary to the Ministry of Land Maksudur Rahman Patwari distributed the foodstuffs as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a function arranged maintaining the health directives at the Deputy Commissioner office premises in Panchagarh town.
Each of the poor pregnant and lactating mothers received foodstuffs, including liquid cow milk, eggs and mangoes worth Taka 500 in the function.
Presided over by Panchagarh Deputy Commissioner Sabina Yasmin, Commanding Officer of Panchagarh 18 Battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Lieutenant Colonel Anisur Rahman, Superintendent of Police for Panchagarh Mohammad Yusuf Ali, District Council Chairman Anwar Sadar Samrat, Panchagarh municipal Mayor Tauhidul Islam, Civil Surgeon Dr. Fazlur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-General) Azad Rahman and ADC (Revenue) Abdul Mannan were present, among others.
On the occasion, Maksudur Rahman called upon every citizen to abide by the directions given by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and government’s health directives to remain safe and keep others safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
