Two cable TV networks distributors fined
DHAKA, July 8, 2020 (BSS)- Two cable network distributors were fined as they were failed to broadcast the Bangladeshi private television channels as per their on air date.
The two distributors are Nationwide Media Limited of Bengal Group and Jadu Vision Limited of Mohammadi Group, said a press release received here today.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate conducted drives and fined the two distributors of Taka 50,000 each.
The Information Ministry has directed all cable distributors to maintain the serial of the TV channels as per their on air date.
After taking charges, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has taken initiatives for maintaining the TV serial. Drives against the cable operators will be continued to supervise the issue, it added.
The serials of the private TV channels as per their on air dates are—ATN Bangla (15-07-1997), Channel I (01-10-1999), ETV (14-04-2000), NTV (03-07-2003), RTV (26-12-2005), Boishakhi TV (27-12-2005), Bangla Vision TV 31-03-2006, Desh TV (26-03-2009), My TV (15-04-2010), ATN News (07-06-2010), Mohona TV (11-11-2010), Bijoy TV (20-12-2010), Somoy TV (17-04-2011), Independent TV (27-07-2011), Machranga TV (30-07-2011), Channel 9 (20-01-2012), Channel 24 (24-05-2012), Gazi TV (12-06-2012), Channel 71 (21-06-2012), Asian TV (18-01-2013), SA TV (19-01-2013), GaanBangla TV (16-12-2013), Jamuna TV (05-04-2014) Dipto TV (12-12-2015), DBC News (21-09-2016), News 24 (28-07-2016), Bangla TV (19-05-2017), Duranta TV (15-10-2017), Nagarik TV (01-03-2018) and Ananda TV (03-11-2018).
