297 test positive for COVID-19, 3 die in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 7, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 297 more people were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,360 samples at six COVID-19 laboratories in the district.

Among the newly detected patients, 229 are from Chattogram city and 68 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

The total number of infected patients now stands at 10,478 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram told BSS today.

With today’s three deaths, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death in Chattogram reached 208, he added.

A total of 1296 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection till today, he said.

15 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the coronavirus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 176 samples in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 111 more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) after testing 515 samples during the same period.

Besides, 44 new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) after testing 205 samples, the civil surgeon said, adding that 51 more new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram University after testing 205 samples in the last 24 hours.

On the other hand, 34 patients were diagnosed with the disease at Private Chevron Lab, Chattogram after testing 104 samples while 42 patients were identified at Imperial Hospital after testing 159 samples during the period.
