COVID-19 death crosses 200-mark in Ctg district

CHATTOGRAM, July 6, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases crossed the 10000 mark as the record number of 292 new patients was diagnosed with the lethal virus.

With today’s six deaths, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death in Chattogram reached 205, he added.

“The total numbers of COVID-19 patients are now stands at 10180 only in Chattogram district till today,” Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today.

These record numbers reached after testing of 1318 samples at six laboratories in the district in last 24 hours.

Among the newly detected patients, 232 are from Chattogram city and 60 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

A total of 1246 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection till today, he added.

Dr Rabbi told that a total of 40 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the coronavirus at Chattogram University after testing 213 samples in last 24 hours

A total of six new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 135 samples in the last 24 hours.

Eighty four more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 473 samples during the same period.

Besides, 46 new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) after testing 224 samples, the civil surgeon said.

73 more corona patients were identified at city’s Imperial Hospital after testing 176 samples while 41 people tested corona positive after testing 93 samples in last 24 hours.

On the other hand, two residents of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing four samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours.
