DHAKA, July 5, 2020 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over
Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places
over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to heavy
falls at isolated places over the country today.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, said a met office
release here.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar,
Gangetic West Bengal and thence northeastwards to Assam across central part of
Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is
fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 36.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi
and minimum temperature today 23.5 degrees Celsius at Teknaf.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four till 6am today was recorded 57
millimeters (mm) at Patuakhali.
The sun sets at 06.50 pm today and rises at 05.16am tomorrow in the capital.
