282 tested positive for COVID-19, 3 die in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 3, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 282 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,323 samples at six COVID-19 laboratories in Chattogram district.

Among the newly detected patients, 182 are from Chattogram city and 100 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

The total number of infected patients now stands at 9,405 in Chattogram district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

With today’s three deaths, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death in Chattogram reached 197, he added.

Dr Rabbi said 37 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the coronavirus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 360 samples in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 70 more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) after testing 403 samples during the same period.

“Besides, 19 new COVID-19 patients were identified at CVASU, Chattogram after testing 140 samples,” the civil surgeon said, adding that 34 more new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram University after testing 109 samples in the last 24 hours.

On the other hand, 25 people were detected as corona positive at Imperial Hospitqal Chattogram after testing 146 samples while 94 patients were diagnosed with the disease at Private Chevron Lab, Chattogram during the period.

Besides, three residents of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing eight samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in the last 24 hours.

A total of 1,131 people were released from different hospitals after recovery from the COVID-19 infection.
