3 BCL leaders extend helping hands to COVID-19 patients

DHAKA, July 2, 2020 (BSS) – Three leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have emerged as coronavirus (COVID-19) warriors by providing free oxygen services in emergence need of critical patients in the city under a venture titled ‘Joy Bangla Oxygen Service’.

Organizing Secretary of BCL central committee and former Secretary for Freedom Struggle and Liberation War Affairs of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Saad Bin Quader Chowdhury, Deputy Science Affairs Secretary of BCL Sabur Khan Collins and Joint General Secretary of Dhaka University Chhatra League Rafiqul Islam Sabuj have taken the initiative.

They started this service from June 25 with 22 oxygen cylinders with their personal funds and financial supports of friends and well-wishers. They are reaching the service to the doorsteps of the deserving COVID-19 patients.

Anyone in Dhaka city area can receive the service by calling the numbers — 01623000100, 01677125758, 01725343038, 01725343038, 01836374921 and 01711173405.

Talking to BSS, Saad Bin Quader Chowdhury said although the service has been launched initially in the capital city, it will be gradually expanded to other parts of the country.

“No fee or security money will be charged for this service. However, in order to get this service, you have to show the doctor’s prescription and national identity card. The service receiver can keep the oxygen cylinder for 7 to 10 days depending on the patient’s physical condition,” he added.

He informed that as of today, around 25 patients received the service.

Saad Bin Quader Chowdhury said they are also providing pulse oximeter to the patients.
