Met office predicts rain with thunderstorms

DHAKA, June 25, 2018 (BSS)-Light to moderate rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes are
likely to occur at many places across the country in the next 24 hours ending
9 am tomorrow.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over Khulna,
Barishal, Chattogram, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions,” said a met
bulletin issued this morning here.

Moreover, a few places over Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions may see
moderately heavy to very heavy falls in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am
today, the bulletin added.

Southwest monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over
North Bay while trough of westerly low extends from Bihar to North-west Bay
across Gangetic West Bengal.

Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.

The maximum temperature was recorded 36.0 degrees celsius yesterday at
Rajshahi and today’s minimum temperature 24.2 degrees celsius at Cox’s Bazar
in Chattogram division.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded
195 mm at Sitakunda in Chattogram division.

The sun sets today at 6:50 pm and rises at 5:13 am tomorrow in the
capital.
