Senegal, Japan share points (2-2) in World Cup

DHAKA, June 24, 2018 (BSS) – Both Senegal and Japan brighten their prospects of going to next round as they fought to an exciting 2-2 draw in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in the Group H match held on Sunday at Central Stadium, Yekaterinburg in Russia.

Senegal after a quiet start shot into lead in the 22nd minutes of the play. Sabaly takes a powerful shot and Japanese goalkeeper Kawashima punches the ball at Mane’s path who did the needful to give the score line 1-0.

Inui equalizes for Japan in 34th minutes (1-1).

Wague again put Senegal into lead in the 71st minutes of the play with a fine goal (2-1).

Japan fought back again as Senegalese goalkeeper made an error and Honda levels the score (2-2).

After today’s outing Senegal point collection rose to four from two matches while Japan also kept their hopes alive with the collection of four points from two outings.

Senegal will play their last group match against Colombia and Japan will play their group match against Poland on June 28.

Earlier in their previous fixture, Senegal beat Poland by 1-0 while Japan beat Colombia by 1-0 both in their respective group opening matches.
