BANDARBAN, June 4, 2020 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s cash aid to Imams and Moazzens of 566 mosques at seven upazilas of the district was disbursed today.
As part of ongoing cash disbursement to countrywide mosques, a total of Taka 28.30 lakh is slated for disbursement at 566 mosques in Bandarban district.
“Imams and Moazzens of 90 mosques at Sadar Upazila and municipality area here got donation from our honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at a function at upazila auditorium here . . . Each of the mosques got Taka five thousand,” Bandarban Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman AKM Jahangir told BSS this evening.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving the cash assistance to the Imams and Moazzens hit hard amid the pandemic Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban District Mohammad Daudul Islam, Municipality Mayor Mohammad Islam Baby, Upazila Chairman AKM Jahangir, UNO Md Hasibul Hasan, District Council Member Mojammel Haque Bahadur and Islamic Foundation’s representative Meer Mohammad Neyamatullah, among others, were present on the occasion.
