25 more positive tests for coronavirus in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, June 4, 2020 (BSS) – Twenty-five more people were tested
positive for coronavirus today at the two COVID-19 Laboratories in
Rangpur and Dinajpur of Rangpur division.

Health officials said the new 25 infected patients of different
places in six northern districts of the division were reported after
diagnosing 376 samples at the two laboratories.

Of them, 13 new patients of different places in Rangpur, Gaibandha
and Kurigram districts were reported after diagnosing 188 samples at
the COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in Rangpur
city.

“The new patients include 10 of Rangpur, two of Gaibandha and one
of Lalmonirhat districts” Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and
Prevention Task Force and Principal of RpMC Professor Dr. AKM
Nurunnabi Lyzu said.

On the other hand, 12 new patients were reported after diagnosing
188 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical
College (MARMC) in Dinajpur. “The 12 new COVID-19 patients include two
each of Dinajpur and Panchagarh and eight of Thakurgaon districts,”
Principal of MARMC Professor Dr. Shibesh Sarker told BSS this evening.

Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for
Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui said the total number of COVID-19
patients rose to 1,283 as 25 new cases were reported from six
districts of Rangpur division today.

” The district-wise break up of the COVID-19 patients stands at 453
in Rangpur, 86 in Panchagarh, 153 in Nilphamari, 48 in Lalmonirhat, 75
in Kurigram, 130 in Thakurgaon, 268 in Dinajpur and 70 Gaibandha in
the division,” Dr. Siddique said.
