Probe report in graft case against ex-TCB official, wife Aug 9

DHAKA, June 04, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today set August 9 to submit a probe report in a graft case against former assistant executive of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) Ali Azam Khan and his wife Jahan Ara.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayesh passed the order, accepting the first information report (FIR) filed in the case.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) deputy assistant director Md Altaf Hossain filed the case against the couple on June 3 for amassing illegal wealth of Taka 1.23 crore.

According to the case documents, ACC sent notice to Ali Azam Khan and his wife on May 6, 2019, for submitting a wealth statement. On May 27, the couple submitted their statements, mentioning the wealth of Taka 2.54 crore. ACC in their investigation found wealth of Taka 1.23 crore were amassed illegally.
