RANGPUR, June 4, 2020 (BSS) – Rangpur Zilla Protibondhi Adhikar
Sangstha (RZPAS) today distributed food assistance today among 50
disabled families of ten unions under Mithapukur upazila of the
district.
It distributed the food assistance with the assistance of Handicap
International, Humanity and Inclusion Bangladesh and UKaid to assist
200 disabled people of 50 families in the wake of the coronavirus
outbreak.
The three donor organisations extended the food assistance under
the “Taking Successful Innovation to Scale Pathways for Disability and
Inclusive Graduation out of Poverty Bangladesh” being implemented by
RZPAS with their funding in the upazila since 2018.
The RZPAS executives distributed the food assistance at a function
held at Boldipukur Abhiram Nurpur Salamia Madrasha ground in
Mithapukur upazila strictly maintaining physical distance and abiding
by the health directives.
Each of the beneficiary families received a sac containing five kg
of rice, one kg each of pulse, potato, edible oil, iodized salt and
onion, two pieces of soap, 500 gram of detergent powder, five packets
of oral saline and 20 pieces of Paracetamol tablets.
With President of RZPAS Rabiul Islam in the chair, its General
Secretary Hasanur Rahman, President of “Shothibari Mohila Swanivor
Samobaya Samity’ in Mithapukur Rely Begum attended the function.
Project Implementation Field Officer of RZPAS Nur Alam moderated
the function.
