Jamalpur MP among 51 infected with COVID -19
JAMALPUR, June 4, 2020 (BSS)- Fifty one persons including a lawmaker tested corona virus positive in the district during the last 24 hours .
According to Civil Surgeon office after testing samples in the laboratory of Mymenshingh Medical College Hospital , 51 persons including Faridul Haque Khan Dulal, lawmaker of Jamalpur-2 constituency (Islampur) have been diagnosed with the novel corona virus infection .
Civil Surgeon, Dr Pronoy Kanti Das said Faridul’s test results came back positive on Wednesday and the 67-year-old is receiving treatment at his Jamalpur residence .
He has been in his constituency since the novel corona virus infections broke out in the country and took part in the relief efforts there.
The sources said 17 persons in Islampur, 15 in Bakshiganj, 8 in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, 5 in Sarishabari, 3 in Dewanganj, 2 in Madarganj and 1 in Melandah Upazila tested COVID 19 positive .
