Food inspector, wife sued on graft charges

DHAKA, June 4, 2020 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against a food inspector and his wife for allegedly amassing illegal wealth.

ACC deputy assistant director Nur Alam filed the case with its Rangpur integrated district office yesterday, said a press release of the national anti-graft watchdog today.

According to the case statement, food inspector and in-charge of Nageshwari LSD, Kurigram, Noor Mohammad Ali accumulated wealth worth over Taka 92 lakh through illegal means or bribe.

Ali transferred the wealth to his wife Sajeda Begum to conceal the money he amassed illegally.

The case was filed under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act-2004, and the Money Laundering Act-2012.
