7 fined for violating coronavirus guidelines in Khulna

KHULNA, June 3, 2020 (BSS) – Mobile courts here fined seven persons for violating coronavirus related guidelines including unnecessary movement, shops remain not shuttered by 4pm and defying social distancing in last 24 hours as of 10 am today.

The mobile courts fined around Taka 14,500 conducting drives in different areas of the city.

Executive magistrates Md. Ismail Hossain, Tapsi Rabia and Md. Abdullah-Al-Faisal of Khulna district administration conducted the special mobile courts to monitor whether people maintains coronavirus related guidelines.

Executive magistrate Md. Ismail Hossain said some defiant persons were penalized for infringing ‘stay at home’ guidelines, opening shops by extended time and not maintaining social distancing.

Additional district magistrate Md. Yousuf Ali of Khulna said eight more people were fined under Section 188, 269 of Penal Code 1860.

Strict legal action will continue to be taken against violators to prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19), he added.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner office room yesterday afternoon with DC Md. Helal Hossain in the chair.

The meeting decided that, if people go out without using a face mask, they will be fined or jailed or both actions will be taken.

Director of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) Dr. Munshi Md. Reza Sekandar, it’s vice-principal Dr. Mehedi Newaz, Civil Surgeon Dr. Suzat Ahmed, Khulna Regional Information Office Deputy Chief Information Officer M. Javed Iqbal, Additional Superintendent of Police (South) GM Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Director of the District Social Services Department Khan Motahar Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ziaur Rahman, among others, were present.
