Farmers expect bumper production as Boro harvest begins in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, May 30, 2020 (BSS) – Boro paddy harvesting is going on in full
swing in all five upazilas of Panchagarh district.

Farmers in the district have started harvesting Boro paddy with much
enthusiasm as they are expecting bumper production in this season.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) of Panchagarh office sources
said Boro paddy was cultivated on 29125 hectares of land with the production
target of 1,21,000 metric tonnes of paddy.

So far, Boro harvesting has been completion on 9,299 heaters of land and
the rest of the paddy harvesting would be completed within 15 days, DAE
office sources said.

The farmers are happy to get bumper production and fair price of Boro
paddy.

The government has fixed Boro price per maund (40 kg) Taka 1040.
