Over 6 crore people get govt’s relief assistance
DHAKA, May 29, 2020 (BSS) – As part of the government’s continuous effort
to minimize people’s hardship amid the corona virus pandemic, more than 6
crore people already have received the government’s relief assistance.
” The government has so far provided relief assistance to more than 6
crore people of over1.25 crore families across the country,” said an official
release here today.
Till May 28, a total of 1,62,193 tonnes of rice, out of 1,82,067 tonnes
allocated by the government, has been distributed among the people, said the
district administration sources, adding that the number of benefitted
families is 1,36,13,187 while the benefited people 6,08,42,903.
Besides, the government has allocated nearly Taka 105 crore cash during
this time.
More than 12 lakh people of 5, 83, 323 families have been benefitted with
the baby food assistance worth of Taka 18.21 crore out of allocated Taka
22.34crore.
