Khalid distributes cash aid among imams, muajeens in Muktagacha

MYMENSINGH, May 29, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM
Khalid distributed cash assistance among the imams and muajeens of mosques of
Muktagacha upazila at a function held at the auditorium of the Upazila
Parisad this morning.

He gave away over Taka 58 lakh in cash to the imams and muajeens of
1,177mosques with to mitigate the financial hardships created amid the
coronavirus crisis.

The money was donated by the Prime Minister and each of the mosques got Tk
5,000 cash.

The state minister also distributed financial assistance among 15 imams
and muajeens from Imam and Muajeens Welfare Fund at the same venue.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shobarna Sarker, Awami League leader Billal
Hossen Sarker, Upazila Parisad Vice Chairman Md. Arab Ali, Azizul Haque Edhu,
President of Muktagacha Press club Nazrul Islam and officials of Islamic
Foundation were present.

After getting the financial assistance the imams and Muajeens expressed
satisfactions and thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her unique steps
for providing such financial helps to the imams and muajeens throughout the
country amid the coronavirus situation.

Speaking on the occasion, the state minister said Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina has taken the initiatives for providing huge financial assistance and
relief goods to the destitute and jobless people to mitigate their financial
hardships .

He urged the imams and muajeens to pray to almighty Allah for long life
and sound health of the Prime Minister.

He also urged all to maintain the directives of the Health Department to
save their valuable lives from COVID-19.
