Maritime ports advised to keep hoisted signal 3

DHAKA, May 28, 2020 (BSS) – Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s
Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local
cautionary signal no three as steep pressure gradient persists over
the North Bay.

“Steep pressure gradient persists over the North Bay. Under its
influence, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, the North
Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh,” said a Bangladesh
Meteorological Department (BMD) press release.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised
to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further
notice.

Besides, the met office also advised the river ports to hoist
riverine warning signal no one as in association with rain or thunder
showers temporary west or north-westerly gusty or squally wind
speeding 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Rajshahi,
Rangpur, Dinajpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali,
Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Sylhet between 3.30pm today and 1pm
tomorrow.
