France beat Peru 1-0 to move to 2nd round in World Cup

DHAKA, June 21, 2018 (BSS) – France recorded their second successive victory in the World Cup to move into second round as they beat Peru by 1-0 goal in their ground C match held on Thursday at Central Stadium in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

In the day’s match, France’s 19 year old Kyilian Mbappe Lottin scored the all important goal for France in the 34th minute of the match.

With the day’s feat, France has secured full six points while Peru are yet to open their account, both playing two matches.

France will play their next match against Denmark while Peru will meet Australia in their next group matches on June 26.

Earlier, France beat Australia by 2-1 goal while Peru suffered a 0-1 goal defeat to Denmark both of their respective group opening matches.

It’s all over in Yekaterinburg, and France are through to the last 16 with two wins from two, while Peru will exit the competition at the group stage after their final game against Australia next week.

Kylian Mbappe’s first World Cup goal seals another unconvincing win for France, and Peru will rue a number of missed chances, particularly in the second half.

Mbappe has become France’s youngest ever goalscorer at a World Cup or European Championships, which was previously held by David Trezeguet (vs Saudi Arabia in 1998 at 20y 246d).
