RANGPUR, May 23, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 364 Imams and Muezzins of
182 mosques today received Taka 5,000 each as gift on the eve of the
Eid-ul-Fitr festivity from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Hakimpur
upazila of Dinajpur district today.
The Prime Minister allocated the gift money for the Imams and
Muezzins of the mosques to mitigate their hardship in the wake of the
coronavirus pandemic.
Member of Parliament from Dinajpur-6 constituency Shibli Sadique
distributed the money in cash in an informal function arranged
maintaining physical distance at the upazila parishad auditorium in
Hakimpur upazila as the chief guest.
With Hakimpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdus Rafiul Alam in the
chair, Hakimpur upazila Chairman Harunur Rashid Harun, Hakimpur
municipal mayor Jamil Hossain Cholonto and Officer-in-Charge of
Hakimpur Thana Abdur Razzaque Akand were present on the occasion.
