KHULNA, May 23, 2020 (BSS) – Khulna district administration has distributed relief materials and cash money among cyclone affected people at Koyra and Paikgacha upazilas.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Helal Hossain and Lawmaker of Khulna- 6 constituency Akhteruzzaman Babu today visited different affected coastal areas of the two upazilas and distributed relief materials as a part of the government’s instant efforts to mitigate the ‘Amphan’ affected peoples’ sufferings.
The relief items include corrugated iron sheets, dry food, pure drinking water and cash aid.
Chairman of Koyra Upazila Parishad SM Shafiqul Islam, Chairman of Paikgachha Upazila Parishad Gazi Mohammad Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ziaur Rahman, Upazila Nirbaha Officers, officials of Water Development Board and Public Health Engineering Department were present at that time.
Khulna district administration has been monitoring and reviewing the situation round the clock and giving necessary instructions to mitigate sufferings of the cyclone-hit people, said Md Helal Hossain.
“We are working post-Amphan rehabilitation activities under the supervision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said. The armed forces, police and other voluntary organizations have been conducting rehabilitation activities and providing medical assistance to the people and also repairing embankments in the affected areas.
