Shibir leader held with firearm, ammunition
RAJSHAHI, June 21, 2018 (BSS)- Police arrested the city unit president
of Islami Chhatra Shibir with firearm and ammunitions from an area here
today.
According to police sources, the arrested person was identified as
Monjur Rahman alias Monir, 29, son of Solaiman Pramanik of Shibpur village
under Boraigram Upazila in Natore district.
On a tip-off, a police team conducted a drive at Nawdapara Postal Academy
area under Shahmukhdum Police Station and arrested Monir, who was fugitive in
a number of criminal cases pending with Boalia Police Station.
Based on his confessional statement, police recovered an unauthorized
pistol with three rounds of bullets from a house in Upashar area of the
metropolis.
The arrested person along with the seized firearm and ammunition was
sent to the court after recording a case in this connection.
