129 Covid-19 patients recover in Khulna division

KHULNA , May 22, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 129 coronavirus (Covid-19)
patients were released after their recovery out of the total of 385 patients
in all 10 districts of Khulna division in last 24 hour till 12noon today.

“The percentage of cured coronavirus patients stands at 33.50 in the
division,” Assistant Director (Health) of Khulna Division Dr. Ferdousi Akther
told BSS today.

Meanwhile, 12 more persons were tested Covid-19 positive in last 24 hours,
raising the total number of confirmed cases to 385 in the division.

“We received 188 samples of suspected coronavirus patients at KMC in Khulna
and other samples in Jashore and Kustia laboratories in the last 24 hours
till 12 noon today and 12 of those were found COVID-19 positive,” she said.

The newly detected 12 COVID-19 patients include seven in Khulna, three in
Narail, one each in Satkhira and Meherpur districts under the division.

Dr. Ferdousi informed that the total number of infected patients rose to
385 after testing their samples at the three regional COVID-19 laboratories
till 12 noon today, since April 7.

Of the total 385 patients, 38 are in Khulna, 14 in Bagerhat, 30 in
Satkhira, 95 in Jashore, 46 in Jhenaidah, 19 in Magura, 22 in Narail, 31 in
Kustia, 83 in Chuadanga and seven in Meherpur, she said.

So far, seven COVID-19 infected patients have already died. Of them, two
are in Khulna, two in Bagerhat, one each in Chuadanga, Narail and Meherpur
districts, she added.

The total number of quarantined people rose to 31,598 today as 105 more
persons were put in quarantine at home or institutions in the last 24 hours
till 12 noon.

“So far, a total of 28,259 people were released from home or institutional
quarantine and 3,339 people are remaining in home or institutional quarantine
in all 10 districts of Khulna division.

A total of 3,212 suspected COVID-19 patients were put in institutional
quarantine in different hospitals so far and of them, 3,009 were released in
the division,” Dr. Ferdousi said.

“Besides, 426 suspected coronavirus patients were admitted to the
isolation units of different hospitals since the beginning, and of them, 180
were released and 246 are undergoing treatments,” she added.
