RANGPUR, Aug 22, 2017 (BSS)- Special Envoy to Prime Minister and Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had already taken all the steps required to supply gas to Rangpur for the further development of the region.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already taken necessary steps for supplying natural gas through pipelines to Rangpur region,” Ershad said at the launching ceremony of Rangpur Branch of Union Bank Limited (UBL) in Station Road area of the city as the chief guest.
He said the barriers for development of Rangpur are being resolved one after another and the people of Rangpur region would further uplift their living standard if they get adequate employment opportunities.
With Managing Director (MD) of UBL Omar Farooque Faruk in the chair, its Additional MD Syed Abdullah Mohammad Saleh, Chairman of Sonic Prime Group Professor Dr Akkas Ali Sarker, former President of Rangpur Chamber Abul Kashem and its incumbent Vice-President Manjur Ahmed Azad, addressed the occasion as special guests.
President of city unit of Jatiya Party Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, its General Secretary SM Yasser, Director of Rangpur Women Chamber Zakia Ahsan, leaders of different trade, business and professional bodies were present.
