JAMALPUR, May 19, 2020 (BSS) – Agriculture department has taken an initiative to distribute vegetable seeds among 2800 small and marginal farmers in the current Kharip-1 season in the district.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources said under the initiative, 1450 farmers already got seeds till yesterday.
They said the seeds were collected from the solvent people of the district for distribution among the farmers free of cost.
DAE has fixed a target to bring 7200 hectares of land under summer vegetable cultivation with a production target of 133200 metric tonnes vegetable here this season.
