AMU for timely implementation of PM’s priority projects

DHAKA, June 20, 2018 (BSS) – Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu asked
officials concerned to speed up the implementation of priority projects of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for taking the country’s industrialisation and
social development ahead.

“Establishments under the industries ministry are closely associated
with people’s welfare. Projects pledged by the Prime Minister should be
implemented timely to ensure industrialisation and social development,” he
said while speaking at Annual Performance Agreement (APA) signing ceremony
here today.

Industries secretary Mohammad Abdullah chaired the ceremony while former
industries secretary KH Masud Siddique and former railways secretary Mansur
Ali Shikder attended the programme as representatives of the cabinet
division.

It was informed at the ceremony that National Productivity Organisation
(NPO) of the industries ministry is in the top position in e-file management
among the 203 government establishments as per the evaluation report (from
June 1 to 15) of a2i project of the Prime Minister’s Office. Besides, the
industries ministry is now in the second position in e-file management among
58 ministries and divisions.

In his speech Amu said APA a document of commitment for the officials-
employees of the government. By signing this document the officials-employees
commit to implement of their specific programmes, he added.

He said establishments under the industries ministry work for the welfare
of the people and society. BCIC is responsible for fertilizer management and
like BCIC, BSTI are responsible for ensuring the quality of construction
materials and food products, he said and asked BSTI to give priority to
people’s welfare and protection of their health while conduct operations for
ensuring quality of products.
