Land ministry issues letter to shift hats, bazaars
DHAKA, April 26, 2020 (BSS)- The Land Ministry today issued a letter to
all districts directing concerned localauthorities to take necessary steps
for shifting kitchen, fish and vegetable markets to nearby government’s
khah lands or any other convenient places during the emergency period of
Coronavirus.
In the letter, the ministry directed the local authorities to seek
cooperation from the bazar managing committees, local health departments and
concerned law enforcement agencies to ensure social distancing between buyers
and sellers, said anofficial handout here.
The ownership of hats and bazaars is bestowed on the land ministry and
those are being conducted under ‘The Hats and Bazars (Establishment and
Acquisition) Ordinance, 1959, the release said, adding that it is one of the
tasksof deputy commissioners to create or remove hats and bazaars, if
necessary.
The concerned deputy commissioner sent proposals to the land ministry
through concerned divisional commissioner, it added.
