One killed, two injured over yaba consumption in Cox’s Bazar
COX’S BAZAR, April 19, 2020 (BSS) – A man was stabbed to death and
two others of the same family were injured as miscreants attacked them
in Madhuhaiyar Ghona area under Pahartoli of the district last evening
over consumption of yaba tablets.
The victim was Syed Alam alias BDR Syed, 50, while the injured were
his son Manikur Rahman Jewel, 25, and his daughter, her name could not
be known immediately.
The miscreants were Alamgir, son of Md Hasan, his brother-in-law Jalil
and Jahangir, son of Farid.
According to police and local sources, the incident took place at 7.30
pm as the victims protested in consuming yaba tablets there. It raised
anger among the miscreants and subsequently they attacked Alam and his
family members with sharp weapons and fled the spot, leaving all of
them critically injured.
Being tipped off, police rushed to the scene and sent them to Cox’s
Bazar Sadar Hospital where doctor declared Alam dead.
His body was kept at hospital morgue for autopsy, said Cox’s Bazar
Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahjahan Kabir.
