Offices resume after Eid holidays

DHAKA, June 18, 2018 (BSS) – Government and non-government offices resumes
today after 3-day holiday marking the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The first working day was spent amidst exchange of Eid greetings at
government offices including the secretariat.

Secretariat official said presence of officers and employees remains a
little after Eid. This time, many officers and employees received additional
leaves as two days of Eid holiday overlapped with the weekend.

On the very first working day after Eid, Finance Minister AMA Muhith,
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Health and Family Welfare Minister
Mohammed Nasim, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain,
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Information Minister
Hasanul Haq Inu, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Home Minister
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Shipping
Minister Shajahan Khan, Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam, State Minister
for Health Zahid Maleque and State Minister for Women and Children Affairs
Meher Afroz Chumki exchanged greetings with officers and employees today.

Visitor’s room at the secretariat remained almost vacant today.

Identical scenarios were seen at state-owned banks including Bangladesh
Bank, insurance offices, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and
Industries (FBCCI) and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) offices
after 10 am.

City streets also remain empty as most of Eid holidaymakers are yet to
return to Dhaka.
