Resources Kabir Bin Anwar said the government has a plan for establishing 64
bird sanctuaries in 64 districts for maintaining ecological balance.

Initiative has been taken to plant trees habitable for birds alongside
the bird sanctuaries. This would ensure shelter and food for the birds and
protect the biodiversity.

Kabir Anwar came up with the observation while exchanging views after
inaugurating a bird sanctuary and tree plantation programme at Dighapatia
Uttara Gonobhaban in Natore on Friday afternoon as chief guest.

Deputy Commissioner Shahina Khatun, Additional Deputy Commissioners Dr
Razzaqul Islam and Muniruzzaman Bhuiyan, Upazila Chairman Shariful Islam,
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jeshmin Akhter and Executive Engineer of Bangladesh
Water Development Board Shudhanshu Sarker were present there.

compund. It is a protected area. So, the area is suitable and appropriate as
