BOGOTA, June 17, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – Polls opened Sunday in Colombia for the
presidential run-off election pitting conservative front-runner Ivan Duque
against leftist former Bogota mayor and ex-guerrilla Gustavo Petro, the first
since a peace deal with FARC rebels was signed.

The fate of the deal signed in 2016 by the government of outgoing
President Juan Manuel Santos is one of the main issues in Sunday’s election –
– Duque wants to overhaul the agreement, while Petro supports it.
