RCCI distributes food among 1,800 needy families in Rangpur

RANGPUR, April 5, 2020 (BSS) – Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(RCCI) today distributed a food package among 1,800 jobless, destitute and
needy families of the district to stand beside them amid the coronavirus
(COVID-19) situation.

Each of the beneficiary families received a sac containing five kg of
rice, two kg of potato, one kg each of onion, edible oil and pulse, two
pieces of soaps and 500 gram each of iodized salt and flattened rice under
the first phase of the RCCI food package program.

President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu and its Senior Vice-
president Mostoba Hossain Ripon formally inaugurated the food distribution
process with handing over 800 sacs to Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan at
his office premises this noon.

Directors of RCCI Md. Habibur Rahman Raja, Md. Azizul Islam Mintu, Md.
Reaz Shaheed Shovan, Md. Akbar Ali, Md. Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, Debobrata
Sarker Ranju, Md. Obaidur Rahman Ratan, Md. Zulfiquer Ali Khan Bhutto,
Khemchand Somani Rabi, among others, were present.

Later, the RCCI executives handed over 1,000 sacs of food under the
program among authorities of socio-cultural and political organisations and
civil society members for distribution among the jobless, destitute and needy
people across the district.
