Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated in Khulna
Khulna, June16, 2018 (BSS) – Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in the city and
district as elsewhere in the country Today with due religious fervor, gaiety,
solemnity and in a befitting manner.
The main Eid Congregation was held at Khulna Circuit House Maidan in
the city at 8.30 am.
Law maker of Khulna-2 constituency Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Newly-elected
KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque and KCC Mayor Moniruzzaman Mony, Chairman
of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, Divisional Commissioner of
Khulna Md Lokman Hossain, Deputy Commissioner Amin-ul- Ahsan, city and
district level government officials, leaders of the political parties, elite
of the city, professionals and people from all walks of life joined the
congregation.
Mowlana Md. Saleh, Khatib of Town Jame Mosque, conducted the main Eid
prayer. Another big Eid Jamaat was held at City’s Town Jame Mosque at 9.30am.
Besides, Eid Jamaats were held on the premises of city’s Islamabad
Eidgah, Khalishpur Eidgah, Alia Madrsa, Baitun Nur Jame Mosque, PTI Jame
Mosque, KDA Nirala Jame Mosque, Basupara Eidgah, Talimul Millat Darul Ulum
Jame Mosque, Deana Eidgah, Farazipara Eidgah, Zila Police Line Maidan, Boyra
Metropolitan Police Line Maidan, Zoragate C&B Colony Maidan, B L College
Maidan and all KCC Wards.
A total of 1,225 Eid Jamaat were held in the city and nine upazila in the
district. Volunteer committees were deployed, other than police protection,
for safety and security all Eid Jamaat, said Amin-ul-ul Ahsan, Deputy
Commissioner of Khulna.
National flag was hoisted atop all the government buildings and main
roads were also decorated with festoons and flags inscribed with ‘Eid
Mubarak’ and ‘Allahu Akbar’.
Improved diets were served among the inmates of hospitals, jails,
Shishu Paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centers of the city and
district.
Khulna Betar aired special programmes and local news papers published
special issues marking the Eid-ul-Fitr.
