New schedule for Automated Clearing House during general holidays
DHAKA, April 2, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Automated Clearing House (BACH), a
platform used to clear interbank cheques, will remain open in a new schedule
during the general holidays from April 5 to April 9.
“The presentment cut off time for high value clearing is 11.30am while the
return cut off time is 12.30pm. For the regular value clearing, the
presentment cut off time is 12 noon while the return cut off time is 1.30pm,”
said a BB circular issued here today.
The central bank has fixed the new schedule as all banks will remain open
from 10am to 3pm during the general holidays from April 5 to April 9 during
the general holidays declared to contain the spread of deadly coronavirus.
The government on Wednesday issued an order, extending the holidays for
all public and private offices from April 5 to April 11, including weekly
holidays.
The government earlier on March 23 declared a nationwide 10-day holiday
shutting down the government and private offices excepting essential and
healthcare facilities while it was due to expire on April 4.
